Busy Installing Remote Starters

What Do Remote Starters Cost Installed?
A remote start installed on a vehicle with no options or extra labor charges can be done as low as $159.99 + tax as long as the car doesn’t have factory security installation issues. Most, but not all, newer vehicles have factory security that must be delt with in the remote start install. Therefore, most late model vehicles require some type of anti-theft interface module or immobilizer bypass modules. This module is necessary to make your car’s own security system work together with the remote start.  For more information  on immobilizer bypass modules click here. With these modules included, a remote start will cost installed in the range of $229.99 to $349.99 depending on the vehicle.   A long range two-way remote start system can cost from $279 to $599 or more depending on the vehicle and the need for additional parts and labor. For a quote on your vehicle, call us. We’ll give you as near an exact quote as we can. 816-356-8700. Sometimes we need to see the car first or spend time reading technical notes about your car’s wiring to get an exact quote. We can’t always do this on the phone, especially during the busy holiday season, but we can get close.

When can you install a remote starter for me?
You don’t need an appointment. We take walk-ins every day.  You can have a remote car start installed any day.  An average remote car starter takes about two hours to install. However if we are busy, we may not be able to start immediately so you may need to drop the vehicle off.

Should I buy my remote car starters online?
NO Way!  … But why not?                Because you don’t really save any money.  Here’s why:
  • A remote start takes special skill and experience to install. Unless you are one of those rare individuals that is comfortable with car electronics and has the knowledge to know where to access each wire’s hook up under your dash, leave it to the experts.
  • The remote start installation can be expensive and few places do it. The average cost to install your online remote start purchase is between $100 and $180 not counting special parts which can average $50 to $130 or more per vehicle. So even if you buy one cheap, by the time you add the installation price, it’s not cheap anymore and will often be what we charge here for our own remote start systems installed with a guarantee.
  • Not only do you not save money, you will find that most places won’t install them for you at all. Call around and you will see.  If they do, they don’t warranty your product. What happens if it has a problem? No one will work on it for free.
  • What good are warranty promises from internet sellers?   How will that help you when you need service?  And probably none of them will help you after 30 days.  What about the hastles involved with removing your remote car starter, boxing it up, shipping it back and waiting to see when or if it will be exchanged and then having it installed again.  And what if the problem wasn’t the remote start at all, but your own lack of installation ability and knowledge of how to solve an install problem.

Our prices already include installation, parts, and warranty. You get a better deal, period.

And absolutely, if you love somebody, DON’T give them an online remote start purchase as a gift unless you plan to pay the expense of their installation, or else you will just be giving them a giant headache or pain in the you know what. Over the years we have seen so many people come into our store with their online or Wal-Mart type “gift” remote start. Many just end up leaving them in their garage or closet or behind the seat of their pickup because they don’t want to pay the added expense to install their “gift”.

Why do some cars cost more than others to do a remote start in?
Some vehicles are harder than others.  A remote start installation can take 45 minutes in one car and three to four hours in another.  Obviously one is going to be more expensive than the other.  The degree of difficulty, what needs to be taken apart, where in the vehicle we have to go to access each wire, what extra parts we have to use or extra wiring procedures we have to do all effect the length of installation and the price of the job. Our installers are skilled professionals.  Most of us are ASE certified in automobile electronics with years of experience.  On today’s automobiles the work is technical and requires training and experience.
