JBL amps are very conservatively rated. JBL power amplifiers exceed their power specs. This means these car amps put out more power than they say and therefor compare to other manufacturer’s power amps that are rated at higher watts by those manufacturers. JBL does not publish exaggerated power specs like most other car amplifier manufacturers. With a JBL car audio amp you could get as much power as some other name brand car amplifiers rated at twice the power!

All JBL amplifiers feature direct connect, which allows use of up to 4-gauge power and ground cable to ensure enough juice is being delivered. Direct connect speaker terminals are also used eliminating the need for additional adapters or special fittings. Common-dimension amplifier footprints are used on all of the JBL GTO amplifier models providing two common dimensions for ultra clean multiple amplifier model installations.

The mono GTO series bass amplifiers have been engineered to ensure optimum power delivery into numerous impedance with low distortion. They come outfitted with a variable 12dB per octave electronic crossover allowing you to optimize subwoofer tuning based on location and accompanying loudspeaker components. They also include JBL’s Dynamic Bass Optimization Circuit which provides variable filtering with adjustable Q below 100Hz. This circuit allows turing of any enclosure to any vehicle. Full range preamp outputs are provided facilitating multiple amplifier hookups without the need for high-loss Y-adapters or signal splitters. The larger bass amplifiers also includes a remote bass level control allowing for on-the-fly bass output changes.
